Foggy Mornings? Think Spring.

The ground hasn't really warmed up yet so when you get an unexpected rise in temperatures you get the morning fog.  It won't last long because the day before was warm so the ground picked up quite a bit of heat.

Fog

This fog moved in very quickly.  It might have only taken 5 or 10 minutes before going from blue sky to this.  In the next few minutes it wasn't worth trying to take a picture as it was a white-out.  This was a very thick fog, moving in and darkening everything like rain clouds.  Very typical for this part of the mid-west....warm days, wet ground from some recent rains and cooler nights.  Speaking of cooler nights....the 30's are in the forecast form weekend after next.  

The Sun Is Rising and the Fog Is Leaving

The sun rises but until it can warm the air the fog will persist.  Can't see it here, yet, but looking through these two pines is the end of a garage on the farm that the trees are a boarder for.  We've had fall like conditions, mid-low 50's in the mornings, which brought about the typical early September fog. 

Early Fall?

The weather this year has been just plain weird.  Lots of rain giving this area a bumper crop in soy beans and corn.  The farmer markets have some really nice produce.  Last year we were begging for rain.

We've only had one week of temps in the 90's.  Most of the summer has seen daily temps in the mid to low 80's.  But this week we have ventured into what one would call FALL temps.  Today it barely climbed to the upper 70's and tomorrow is forecast to be 69 at noon and 71 at 4 PM. Tonight is forecast to be 49 degrees.  Whoaaaaa, only 17 more at we're at the freezing mark.
