The Season is Changing, Maybe

The season called summer is coming to and end.  Happens every year at this time so it isn't a surprise.  You wouldn't know it though, the weather has been hot and humid for late August.  Generally it is hot during the day and very dry, you have to pity those with allergies because between the ragweed and dust, they are miserable.  This year has been a bit different, we have mowed every week since April with only one week at the beginning of August or end of July where it looked like the rains had quit for the summer.  It's been really hard to get the red sunsets since there doesn't appear to be much dust in the air.

This picture has been edited in Lightroom.  In reality the grass is green as well as the leaves on the trees.  This yellow in the sky is there but not so dominate.  I just wanted to play with the picture, I don't really want to bring Fall on because right behind that is Winter and the Almanac says to watch out.  Hey Ben, we didn't think winter was going to leave last April then all of a sudden it was gone.  Maybe we will have a colorful fall and a more normal winter this year.

A Gray Morning

Need anything else be said.  We went from dry weather to rain almost everyday.  The grass should be browning out and crack under you foot steps.  Backyard football was played on dry, hard ground.  No grass stains to get on your knees.  This year will be different.

It's Raining, You'll Get Wet!

The bubbles on the water remind me of when I was a kid and we would say; look at all the frogs jumping in the water.  It's pretty neat when a drop of water can make a bubble....

Doesn't Pay To Rush

When you live in a city environment, we are on the edge of country and city, you get excited and don't think of everything you should do to get the shot that presents itself.  I did this when I saw this hawk sitting on the wall.  I really got lucky that anything came out.  I had left my camera in manual focus but luckily it was near infinity.  I did what I could to clear it up.

Look to the right.

 Look to the left.
 Look back to the right.
Nobody move, maybe he won't see us.

Vintage Effect

I have nothing to say, just experimenting with what started out as a vintage look.  Not sure what to call it now but I think I would like to make a Preset of it.

Blue Morning

Had time on my hands so I thought I would play around with a picture.  That's a one light Martian spaceship coming in for a landing behind the trees.  Can't stand people that drive, here it's fly, with their high beams on.  Now where's that button on the floor to dim them?

Foggy August Mornings Lead to the End of Summer

Well, it's mid August and some of the kids are back in school as of last week.  There are a number of them that haven't started yet but will be soon.  I remember when I was a kid that you didn't start school until after Labor Day, or in some years we might have started a day or two before but then we got our first holiday off from school for Labor Day.

It won't be long though before the leaves on the trees are the color of the sun coming through the pine trees and the reflection of light on the mist of the fog.  The fog is an indication that August is upon us and that summer is just about all used up.  It's downhill from July 4th as all the summer clothes make way on the shelves for the school supplies and the winter clothes.  Halloween candy will be out just after Labor Day if it isn't already.....There is no anticipation left for the imagination anymore.

Love That Sugar Water

I would assume that only because this humming bird flaps its wings so much that it doesn't gain weight.  It feeds from early in the morning until dusk, almost dark, everyday.  There are actually two, can't quite tell if one is a male or not.  Not even sure of the species.  Usually we have Ruby Red Throats, but not this year.

The Sun Is Rising and the Fog Is Leaving

The sun rises but until it can warm the air the fog will persist.  Can't see it here, yet, but looking through these two pines is the end of a garage on the farm that the trees are a boarder for.  We've had fall like conditions, mid-low 50's in the mornings, which brought about the typical early September fog.
