I have two pictures to post. The first one is the one I should have posted yesterday but didn't get around to it. The second picture was taken on the 12th, 3 days before.
The whole intent of this exercise is to show the changes of the scenery, taking the same shot at the same time on the 1st and 15th of every month for one year. Actually it was only suppose to be once a month, the 1st, but I tend to get carried away sometimes or I just needed more to do. Afterall, I am retired and I do have time on my hands.
So, snow today and gone without run-off in three days.

Finally...A Bright Day
Nothing else needs said after seeing nothing but gray, snowy clouds for the most part since the beginning of December.

The Day Before The Big One
You wouldn't know it from this that we, something like 24 + states were going to get what would become a huge winter blast. The last I heard the blizzard that ensued covered 8 or more states. We got the ice because we were on the outside eastern edge of the storm. So far in our area we have from 1/4 of an inch upwards towards 1/2 inch of ice. Just 10 miles north north west they have 1 inch of ice and not 3 miles in the same direction they got ice then sleet and today it's snow.
I'm a day late on my posting for the first of the month posting and I have no excuse. Afterall, I'm retired and in weather like this I stay put. I did work on my taxes some, read some, watched part of the Daytona that I have taped...about 6 hours of the first 7 hours of Part 1.
Like I said, this was in the morning, the storm hadn't hit yet. If I get it done today, I will put up some pictures that expect will look the same tomorrow.

It Started On Sunday
It started yesterday. You know, the little county map covering part of your viewing area on your TV. I thought something was going to start that evening but nooooo, not even Monday morning. It was for Tuesday, with some maybes thrown in for Monday evening. Talk about getting a head start. If you look at this picture you will see that little watch indicator on the TV and the window on the otherside has sunshine coming through. Enough sun today that more snow has melted. Get the cots ready, the weathermen are staying through the night.

Day to Day Changes in Winter Scenes
Five inches on the 21st to bright and sunny on the very next day. We haven't seen the sun since the first of the year of maybe before that. The sun was a nice refresher and a reminder of things to come.
Then today, we have the sun about to come out but we also have the frosty moist air giving a show on the weeds and grasses along the fence lines.

Mid-Month Posting
Not much to say about this except it is from yesterday, Jan. 15th. The days are starting to get a little longer but it is still hard to see it in the photos. Eventually the skies will clear enough in the mornings to be able to see that the sun is starting to travel from the right to the left. If it was present this day it would be just on the edge of the right side but visible and when fully to the left in the summer it will be just out of sight I do believe. Most of the year it should be from edge to edge at this focal plain.

Happy New Year and the Monthly Photo
Well, I'm a little late on posting my first of the month photo. For those that stumble on this site, I started taking a photo out the same window of my house at the same time every month and plan on doing it for a year. I had planned on only the first and then decided to do the 15th also. My point was to see the change in the scenery every month. The changing of the lighting as well as the color changes. This was prompted by my noticing the movement, which I was well aware of, the sun in its track across the horizon.
See you on the 15th, or there abouts.

The view is looking east across a farmers field just off our subdivisions property line. There is a highway below the large tree to the right of the tower off in the distance. Actually the pine trees on the left follow a road that goes under the highway. You could do a Google or Map Quest of Swigart Rd. and I-675 to see this passing. Depending on which one you use you would could see my house from above. There is a traffic round about, really confusing in this part of the woods, and two ponds to the south side of Swigart. I'm the first house to the left of the left pond. Some sites show it as dirt some with grass. Depends on their updates.
My decision was to take the picture at 8 AM just so I would have light. I am trying to take all the pictures the same with small improvements in Elements 8 for some clarity. Come rain or shine, same window, same time, same shot. I'm close enough for this amatuer. Too perfect and it isn't a hobby but a job. I did take a monochrome so we have two photos today.
On this day it was raining. Later on the day turned out beautiful. Much warmer and very sunny.
See you on the 15th, or there abouts.
