Warm Water with Cold/Chilly Air Equals

This combination happens every fall. It causes the steam or fog to rise from the local lakes and ponds. We get lucky to see it because the sun comes up on the east side of the pond from our house. We have two ponds with a road separating them, the larger one is on our side which is where the duck in the photo is and the water and fog is. The smaller pond is on the other side and more near the farm field. Large pond pushes water into the small pond and if the level rises enough it releases water down to what is known hear as the Little Sugar Creek. It's for flood control.

Got Up This Morning and What Did I See?

Nothing, absolutely nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. I was able to see moisture that was left on the windows. It is sooooooo humid and windless that the dew/humidity has collected on the windows. This was today and the humidity level has been extremely high for the past two days. High tomorrow is suppose to be 97 and humid. It's summer and we should expect this. Beats shoveling snow. Make it larger and you still can't see clearly.

Out the Window...Mid-June Posting

Hot and humid as you can see from the foggy/haziness look. Oh, I forgot, rain too. We get well over 30 days of rain, a small break and it cools off. Air gets nice and dry, almost fall like weather. Then you get smacked in the face with the high humidity and heat. Actually it isn't all that hot but the wet air feels like it is extremely hot.

The left side of the first picture would almost line up with the right side of this picture.Notch in tree tops and the utility pole.

As you can see the sun is trying to peak through and this is suppose to burn off but I can tell you that since I didn't post this until now, 3 days later, that the sun never did appear.

Pemaquid Point Cove

Sometime back in 1997, or so, we went on a vacation trip to Maine. Reservations were at the Boothbay Harbor Inn in Boothbay Harbor. At that time I had my AE-1 film camera. Loved it and thought I would not give up film until I got my Rebel XTi. This shot was with the AE-1. I probably took 3 or 4 rolls of 36 film in the week we were there.

Birdman of PortCityDailyPhoto ( http://pasttimeamainebackyardandbeyond.blogspot.com/) put a foggy picture up the other day which reminded me about my trip(s); we were up in Maine a couple years before this before our daughter went off to college, and the pictures I took. I keep saying I need to process them, you know scan and save and clean etc, etc. I had 4 that I blew up and framed. Sold the frames in a garage sale last year and the blown up pictures went with them. The old guy that bought them was going to put train pictures in them. Anyways, short of digging the originals out I remembered that I had taken pictures of the pictures in the frames. That is part of the reason for the blurry effect. To me, it just says Maine.
